Abstract

This preprint reports an interview study with artists to understand generative AI in art from an HCI perspective. The work examines how artists perceive, adopt, and critique G-AI tools in their creative practices, highlighting both opportunities and tensions around authorship, control, and artistic value. It contributes qualitative insights into how human-centered design can better inform future AI art tools.
